I’ve heard many times that the hardest part to anything is getting started. Starting a blog for an adoption agency is no different, and I can assure you I’ve spent hours agonizing over how to start this first post. At the heart of it, my goal with this blog is to give people looking into the adoption world a glimpse of what it’s like…a small slice of the pie, if you want to think of it in terms of food (and frankly, I ALWAYS want to think in terms of food).
So…who am I? Well, I’m Kristin. I’m a lot of things, but the ones you’re probably most interested in are the parts of my life that touch on adoption. I’m an adoptive mother to an amazing almost four-year-old, and I am an adoptee myself. We have an open adoption with our son’s birth mother, and I couldn’t be more thankful for that, even though it can be challenging at times. I love talking about all aspects of adoption and am very open about my own story, and welcome any questions that people want answered. What I would love to see here is an open dialogue from people interested in aspects of adoption! I plan to focus my blog posts based on questions asked in the comments, but even if no one jumps in, I still have quite a few tricks up my sleeve on things to talk about. 😉
Please feel free to comment, or just stop by to read. No question is too hard, no question is too “silly”, and everyone starts at the beginning of their own journey. Over time, you’ll see my beginning as well, and I hope that helps give people a new perspective on adoption that they can take with them as they travel their road!
Welcome to the journey,
